Why does HE want the ceremony to go on? The Scarecrow is abdicating! This is what you want!

*raises hand* Question? Why exactly doesn't the Scarecrow just announce that, as Emperor, he is electing NOT to undergo the transformation? Getting out of the marriage, admittedly, may cause diplomatic issues, but why doesn't he at least yell at the people who arranged it? And since his son is openly wishing for his death, why can't he order his imprisonment/execution, whether or not he's transformed?
