Status Updates From The Fire in Fiction: Passio...

I've seen a rec of this in a server and people saying they liked it and read it a second time taking notes, so I'd thought I'd check it out but am one very close to NDFing. In the character chapter so far, i've seen nothing that I haven't read a million times before. I'm waiting to see what he says about scenes and structure before I throw in the towel.

Donald Maas has written 3 books on writing that no author ought to miss. This is one of them. So far I have really enjoyed this book and am doing the exercises.

Had to skip over the satirical chapter because it suffered the same issues from the thriller one. But I found the chapter on micro-tension overall very useful.

I came back to this book recently. I had good memories of the first part, but the latest chapter - about suspending disbelief - was quite trite.
