This is so far a very good book,the author describes everything with crisp detail,such as''The flesh around the graze was coated with a discolored mass of oozing,vile fluid.'' the details make it seem like you are there,looking at the deeply poisoned wound with pus and it sticking to the gauze they had applied to it.

The book was dragging a bit for me, but then the peril part of the title kicked in and I didn't want to stop reading. Gah - it's killing me! I'll probably finish tonight.

I am not sure how I am going to like this book I am a huge fan of Halt and if something happens to him... I would be incredibly sad

I know that Halt is going to be shot by a crossbow bolt and poisoned but how is he going to get cured? Right now, they are hunting for the assassins and I am pretty sure that Halt is going to get shot by the crossbow but when and how?

I can see this plan going all wrong.

its really good so far but i already read the book so

I as a lttle surprised at how much trust Halt has in his apprentice Will. Also I'm a little confused on how easy it was to fool the all the town's people into beliving a lie. Overall I think it's going to be a great book.

Will Horace and Halt are traeling through Areluen when they come across a forest whcih has been dorwned and then the water went away. They get corndered by their enemy, they kill one but the other shoots Halt with his crossbow. The enxt day WIll Halt and Horace are riding and Halt falls unconcious. Will finds that his shoulder is twice as big as it should be and find that he has been poisoned.
