Just describing his outfit would have made more sense (but it would have required the author to describe her characters and she apparently doesn’t like to do that)

Secrets are totally a good idea in a situation this delicate. I’m sure no one will see one photo or overheard a portion of a convo and assume the wrong context and break them up
