Status Updates From Just a Pinch of Magic

I like how an Enchanted Match didn't revolve around romance. The build up made the reader think that the Enchanted Match would focus on romance, but that wasn't what happened.

Wini and Kal's friendship was a highlight of the book. It was sweet. I love how Wini lifted Kal up and empowered her. 😊

That was a cute ending to a fun book. I'm glad that this was a light read because that's exactly what I needed, and honestly, what my therapist suggested. She doesn't want me to read anything heavy because I'm dealing with some rough emotions and I'm gradually healing from them.

My mom guessed that the romance would crop up towards the end of the book and she was right. 😊

Badass!Wini is badass. 😁😉

I wasn't expecting the plot twist that I just read involving Violet and Coraline. That was well done by Alechia Dow.

'Everyone fails. It is the gift of life to fail many times so that you may learn to succeed. And then you will have the determination to never fail again.'

That's a thought-provoking way to think about failure. I like this perspective!

I learned more about the Enchanted Match spell in this chapter. Ada and Loretta were cool characters. And they were totally a couple. 😉😊

The silly puns in that chapter were cute. I'm a sucker for silly puns. 🙂

That chapter was suspenseful and spooky. 😮

I liked how Kal was trying to contemplate what Wini experienced as the town outcast.

I like how Kal is optimistic even though she struggles with anxiety. Life goal!!

The part where Wini told Kal that she was happy to be Kal's buoy was incredibly sweet. Excuse me while I give myself one of my dog's insulin shots. 😆

I learned more about Coraline in this chapter. She intrigues me as a character because she seems like she's morally gray.

I wonder if Wini wasn't the one who unintentionally caused an issue in Honeycrisp Hill with her magic after all. I know it's being framed that way, but her dad had some dialogue about how a child her age wouldn't be able to conjure such powerful magic.

Kal's explanation of anxiety was spot on.

I appreciated Kal's thoughts about baking and how it relaxed her. I feel the same way about baking. It can be very grounding and calming. 😁❤️
