Status Updates From Lost in Time

Overall, couldn’t wait to see how it all came together. Ending was a littttttle rainbows and butterflies and not at all feasible but in a book w dinosaurs it’s par for the course and I ate it up all the same. I like that they extended the usage to beyond the core A6 crew.

Definitely interesting concept, science was fun, unique in my readings so far and mystery was actually mysterious! 5*

A even consistently thinks she’s the one to kill Nora so if she does it’s not the twist. It’s part of the intrigue.

Also D always seemed to know what was going on but it was subtle enough that I didn’t think she was from the future and neither did they.

I cared more about seeing A recreate the past so I do wish there was more of that but it was already plot heavy so I understand need for character time

Quantum mechanics, dinosaurs, mystery I cared about, Lost reference. just fun.

I liked that there’s some basis for this. That they didn’t intend to make time travel and it was meant to revolutionize shipping. Internet made info accessible to everyone now this could do it for physical objects. But it wasn’t energy cost-effective. They made a discovery so how could the world use it?

In the photos, Charlie is there w E! They send S and N to the island. A tells Korean organ company lady who lost her father that she can help.

She brings her brother and makes deals w govts to get access to all media so they can prove they’ve been somewhere before actually going. Can’t change the past and all that.
C dies on island. They go back and bring people to their utopia. She searches for her ex bf

Omg when Charlie died W told A never to speak of that night until they’re both at Nora’s house and that she would know when! And to tell E that everything was going to be alright. E doesn’t remember that. E went back, too!! E leaves so his DNA isn’t there and A and S recreate the murder scene. A reveals she’s his daughter when she touches the knife to get her DNA on it.

H sends young A back and sends body bag somewhere ?? She Puts a recall ring on her wrist and in her pocket. They see ping is successful and he’s brought back! They send both A and dad to the past to Nora’s home. She was expecting the bag next but E appears w gun, too! Bag is body that looked like Nora from grown organs. She exhumed her to make sure it had the S/N! That it wasn’t really Nora!

A made her younger A investigate C H E to get close so E would trust A they’d tell her when A2 was ready. She’d use it on her younger self but then what? She creates the ID with disappearing ink

Korean company for organ modeling meets w her. She needs to exhume Nora’s body to get exact measurements. She knocks out young A and shows photos to H in the lab to convince him to send her back. She says she’s A

Omg A only checked for HER photos w the software not the others’! Nora’s death goes the same and A has to sit back and watch it play out. Not knowing what she’s missing. She uploads the others’ photos into the program. Who else used A2? Omg I’m on the edge of my seat

She’s got surveillance on each other’s homes and lab.

E/H tell the 6 the discovery A2 can now send payloads to THEIR universe not an alt But can’t predict time/place. Noras convinced this is the reason of Fermi paradox why they’re alone in the universe. E argues if they already have done it it’s not changing the past

Nvm they just talked. The 6 actually have an intelligent discussion on how to use the tech before the crazy prison idea. Send nuclear waste w long half-lives somewhere else but morally wrong since they’re damning another universe. They created it they can destroy it. Idk I liked this part cuz it’s not just jumping to hey crazy idea but. They actually discuss it. And they’ll abolish death penalty.

They experiment sending tuning bars to Death Valley and everytime it says the particles are still entangled but they are never there. They sent them to the past instead. Greatest blunder in history.

Nora comes to her to talk. Oh god. Does Danielle kill Nora because she has to die to not change the past. Jesus. That’s dark.

She becomes kind of like a caregiver to the 6, in charge of Hs finances, doing her dad time off to care for his sick wife, helping his wife sew. This would hit harder if we knew how regretful she was of the time they didn’t spend together buttttt there’s so much plot I actually get the brevity here.

She pitches idea to Elliot’s team knowing full well they’re bluffing for funding. Her plan is to prove his innocence, find the killer and bring him home. If she can’t do the first they’ll live in exile. The island!

Each of them confess something to her now that they’re partners. H gambling, Cs HIV (finally gets to see photos from room that D wouldn’t let her to notify ppl she spread it to oh nooo)

Oh no l, since she has to keep the past the same, she has to see Charlie the dead son of Elliot. She hasn’t yet just anticipating. She waits for Elliot’s symposium on quantum entanglement then proposes her plan to use for parcels.
She also meets man even tho she’s not sure Danielle ever did. She’s just lonely meets Nathan who gifts her diamond earrings. She engraves the number on them. They break up

She’s starts trading stocks (her financial lessons w D paid off) and she gets closer to her mom. They watch lot together! (Book cover has similar text and also her dad is stranded w a smoke monster and unburying things lol)
Number on her earrings was for guy who will make her social security # and real ID.
Danielle got plastic surgery so that A never looks like a young D.

D talks w Korean company. E shows her that D had Nora’s body exhumed to memorize wounds to reenact them (idk if I trust Elliot not saying he’s the bad guy but he seems motivated by his son so misguided? )

D Knocks A out and puts her in machine. Ok. This looks bad, I know! But maybe to put her with her dad now that they’ve located his timeline? She’s bringing Something on her plz don’t let me down D

Poor Sam, he’s dodging stampedes/volcanic ash but he’s been collecting A pins from other prisoners and sees they are trackers pointing him towards something.
Oh god they’re forcing prisoners to death hoping they encounter Sam??
They theorize that Danielle knows A2 is going to be built because she uses it to kill Nora in the past hence why she has an alibi

A2 breakthru is they can send to past in any universe deviated from their own. They sent Sam back with A2 so they can target his timeline but the machine wasn’t finished then so they can’t pinpoint time/location. So they’re sending shit back to him blind. Cool. Cool. Cool.

Apsolom 2 could alter the past and each of them have reason they’d want to (Elliot’s son, Constance for some reason, Hiro w whatever’s in his Vegas home) but Danielle says they would destroy our present doing this. But her father is not in their timeline they can alter all they want
