Sadly, this book is straight airport dadslop. As an overeducated idiot with no job, I wish I could believe the arguments made by Turchin here, the theory he’s pushing for may just be true, but I’ll never know from reading this book. It’s incredibly frustrating to read a passage claiming ‘I proved this in Appendix A’ and upon reading appendix A, he says ‘I proved this in chapter 8 of my previous book’.
