The section on knotwork was interesting and hands on. It is certainly a skill that will take practice to do well.

This is some kind of "how-to" book on how to decorate manuscripts. The first two chapters on step and key patterns were interesting and fun to do. The chapters on spirals, script, layout, and letter decoration were rather technical. The chapters are poorly written and do not explain the concepts well.
