Status Updates From Throne in the Dark (Villain...

DNF at chapter 10. It's occasionally funny and I like the idea of a book being self aware and joking about the stereotypical shadow daddy... but it's just so... boring? Characters are annoying when they're not funny, just flat. Might pick up again at some point but so far it feels like it's written for teenagers and have 0 "romance/spice" which isn't necessarily something I need but this book does.

I feel like I had thought the Infernal Brotherhood of the Tempest was just silly before, but man, they are just trapped. There is no going back and changing your mind. Terrifying.

I love this subtle change where Amma's life is important to Damien, and poor Kaz, he was willing to let that swamp creature have him.

Also, I love the subtle references to what brought Amma searching for the scroll.
