Status Updates From Scorch Atlas

So far so good! It’s a lot less scary/creepy than I expected and a lot more sad. My favorite story so far is the one about the family dealing with the son that spontaneously combusted.

like being dragged under a mudslide of words. invading the space behind your palate, burning sinuses, filling your ears, everything brown and cloying, the tide turning your body into something lesser and spitting you out with the worms

The descriptions of strange things falling from the sky are interesting, but not the passages about people going crazy. Lots of discussion of motherhood and children, too. Not fond of that.
