A lot is happening but it’s kind of slow

Giving this another chance

the characters feel so flat and the plot is progressing at a glacial pace. i am bored out of my mind rn. there’s no way this book actually needed to be almost 600 pages long

a lot of cringey dialogue. a lot of phrases are not very in tune with a somewhat period piece book.. set in older times not exactly a futuristic setting, shouldn’t have modern day dialogue and phrases. seems out of place and strange. ill-fitting

long chapters, overfilled with detailed imagery that’s relatively unnecessary. very wordy for minimal advantage

jumps between disconnected characters, can be hard to follow and confusing..

so damn good. big commitment but so damn good

I absolutely adore how Victoria Aveyard picks up the next book exactly where the last one left off
