‘Of the Compassionate’ is the most agreeable position I have yet read from Nietzsche. He talks of lending someone your shoulder, but not being their crutch. He talks of compassion being an enabler of weakness and an inhibitor of human excellence. I agree somewhat but I might suggest that unconditional and thankless compassion is an indicator of excellence in and of itself. Much to consider.
