The page count for the hardcover edition is wrong. The pacing in this one had me going in spits and spurts. Sometimes I just flowed along enjoying the tale of three brothers interspersed with Nonna's proverb I and other times I was busy pontificating on the sprinkled observations. There were many elements that I enjoyed but perhaps the overall cohesiveness eluded me.

Pitched this up a while but it was given the nod by Allie (Tavern United) as a light easy read compared to "The Sweet Hereafter by Russell Banks. So far her intuition is bang on.
