Status Updates From Clay's Ark (Patternist, #3)

The jump from mid-20th century in the 2nd book to what might be 23rd century in this book doesn’t follow the narrative of the previous books & is disorienting. The only links so far are,(in name only), to Clay from the second book & Doro, (the previous antagonist), appears to have been replaced by a disease that causes his compulsions to arise in the infected characters. This is my least favorite of the series.

This is already a tension filled read. Blake’s car has been pulled over, he and his family have been kidnapped in what spears to be a post-apocalyptic near future.
In my 1984 trade paperback copy, the previous reader has written her notes on a blank page in the back.
