Amy Carmichael was a devoted follower of God. She knew He was forever faithful. She knew He loved her and would never leave her for forsake her.
Finding joy and praising God were vital in Amy's everyday life. She praised God continually even during her darkest of hours. She could ask God, the"why's of life" yet be at peace when she didn't understand.
Yes; Amy blessed many with a rose from her own brier!

Among the letters is the story of a young wife and mother who was held fast in pain for forty-seven years? Yet the author shares that this woman lived her life with patience,, forgetfulness of self, and service to others. She had a deep love for God and spent her days doing all he could to serve Him.
This book is opening my eyes in ways I never conceived possible. I'm grateful for my good health, thank you Lord!

A pastor friend with a love of reading invited me to read this book. I flipped through it, not sure if this book would interest me. So glad I decided to delve into it.
Amy Carmichael was a remarkable woman. This book, one of many she wrote as an invalid, is meant to encourage the ill. I appreciate her logic;the well do not fully understand what seriously ill people endure.
Her words speak to my heart.
