Okay, this sentence is fireee.

I'm okay with a love interests but WHY do they always need to have green eyes?

I'm on page 10 of 96, in fact just 1 page into the story because the 9 pages before were just reviews of some famous authors, AND THIS SENTENCE ALREADY HYPES ME UP AND I DON'T KNOW WHY BUT I'M HERE FOR IT.

So Sawtooth Jack is the hero. Interesting.

So the cop is in the Guild. The scarecrow is brought to life by last year’s winner, murdered. Their family is paid off. No one is allowed to leave. Lots of parallels with Halloween Fiend.

Almost stops to save a girl. Girls can’t participate. The boy is somewhat philosophical.

The October Boy wants to win but doesn’t kill to win when he doesn’t have to. Interesting. He’s described as a murderer but is no different than the boys on the other side except that he shows Mercy.

I like how it’s told like the Twilight Zone but talking directly to you.

I’m having a hard time understanding what they’re saying

I think teenagers being hunted in cornfields at night is my favorite horror niche.

This is the place where stories find their endings.
But they don’t always die. No. Like fire, like fury, stories can’t always be contained.

Yeah. You remember how it feels to go nose to nose with a legend. That’s why the stories they spin about the October Boy are all about fear.... So there’s no much chance of separating reputation from reality when you look the real deal straight in the face. He’s the October Boy... the reaper that grows in the field, the merciless trick with a heart made of treats, the butchering nightmare with the hacksaw face...

So far, this is like a cross between The Purge, Children of the Corn, and Nightmare Before Christmas. Very campy Halloween fun.
