um but i actually cared about atsushi! which is something that 5 seasons and 1 movie of the anime never ever made me do!

it was also weird that they kind of brought up that without fukuzawa he couldn't control his ability, then they forget about that so. uh not that the main series if very good at keeping track of literally anything so eh whatever

i feel like i would have preferred if this was a tragedy. it feels weird having such an open-ended ending for something that will never be continued. the idea of alternate universes being known felt like...idk weird? and also the the fact that i actually liked dazai in this universe--that he's not just an plot device--but the idea that he knew everything all along kind of ruins it

Okay but then THIS would imply that the current bsd universe is an alternate reality created after writing in the book—which would— fuck why did they make this so complicated

I like the ending part of this story. Especially the part that Akutagawa gained allies/a found family in the ADA. Plus the <spoiler>Mori being a relatively good guy in this world and Elise is an adult? OMG!</spoiler> I am kinda happy for Atsushi too.

As for the Akutagawa and Gin’s reunion since, I admit what Gin (and Dazai) said about Akutagawa being reckless and selfish is true, but is it a bit too harsh for Gin to condemn her brother as ‘evil’ because of it!?

It's a pity that Akutagawa didn't get to punch the Man in Black after all the stuff he had been through.
