Status Updates From The Shadow of the Torturer

This is the second book in a row that I've read this year that ended without resolving what had been introduced as the plot. Instead he gets diverted by what seemed to be a side quest in the first town he gets to, and that side quest turns out to be the entire book. Unlike that other book, this one has sequels that hopefully bring it to a conclusion.

Rereading it feels like it is a huge influence for the Elden Ring. Its like wondering through such a place but with far less enemies
