Gabbert heavily focuses again on emptiness, dread, and memory. I wonder what she was going through when thinking and writing these poems. I’m aware she created these during 2020, but I guess she was really deep into her thoughts to be able to come up with these poems.

I just feel like majority of these poems she has published were mini random thoughts that have occurred throughout the day on a sticky note and then pieces it together as one as poem. It’s interesting how she shares that distance is like time which means distance is money like they say “time is money.” Apart from that I liked the rhythm and rhyme in the first 2 stanzas in “Yes & No”

Favorite quotes so far from two different poems: “I like listening to sad music when I’m sad. It doesn’t make me feel hoper per se, it just improves the quality of the sadness.” & “The past is bright, but black and white. The future is dim but in color.”

“Wild Animals (Normal Distance)” & “The Vagueness of the Moment” are my 2 favorite so far from the book. These 2 poems really talk and focus in on time and life in general.
