'Excuse me', 'I'm sorry' and 'May I' fall out of the vernacular." Lol at the above. Maybe identifying with the writer's sentiment makes me sound old but it sure is hilarious :'D

Finding this a bit dull and whiny

This is funny, all right, but you need to be in the right frame of mind to find the humor at exaggeration and hyperbole within such a sacred topic.
