I’m liking the characters and writing so far, but the conflict is driven by mc1 telling off mc2 for coming in person to drop off a check because mc1’s son is around and both mcs understand that the son would think mc2 is a booty call. Personally if I were to drop off a check or were to have dropped off a check when I was more nubile and received that kind of reception it would feel more bizarre than offensive.
