i am enjoying this book so far and the writing is beautiful but do we really need 3 pages describing the braids of the vampire angels? just seems like the book is long for the sake of being long...

Started with the physical book but switched to audio and so glad I did. The voice actors are on point and given it’s a LONG book I could consume it while doing other tasks. Sweet spice finally hit at 65%-ish and I’m really enjoying this. Some long montages for sure but I’m not in a rush to finish this.

The writing on this one is STRUGGLING… powering through though…

Honestly I’m just confused. The writing is good, plot seems well laid out, I’m super intrigued. But I’ve not been given enough info on their world, customs, or beliefs to understand WTF is going on or what all the in between the lines talk means. It’s getting frustrating and worse.

Oh my goodness the slowest of slow starts. This better be worth it 😭

Idk how people think this is boring, unless they assumed it was like a lot of other romantasy books, and didn't expect their romance to come with politicking. This is much in the same vein as Robin Hobb vibes: slow to unfold, but rich with character, world building, and politics. If my brain is picking these up, I might follow the trend and switch out Court of Claws for Kushiel's Dart 🤔
