the more i think on it the more mad i am with this author
i just cant relate

usually
id feel bittersweet when an author can make me fall in love basically with their characters and worldbuilding especially, to make me want more when the story ends

but this fucking author
its worse than a tease

there’s just no substance to be had

so much time and words wasted on other shit

the book cover art is atrocious.

these stories i can tell
all have some smidge of potential thats quickly undermined and trampled on due to the way this author writes the stories

like
why even fucking bother creating all of these details and worldbuilding and lore for your characters when you do nothing for it after???

what a fucking waste

and whats told is lacking

i dont feel generous

even though ive typically given one star ratings mostly to really shit books
i do feel as though the storytelling style this author has is so poorly done every time that its egregious enough for me to rate it a low one star

since i started it last night and finished just now

but its such a forgettable story
apart from the snake aliens

i mean it was cool that she started getting scales and stuff
but thats what i mean-the shit writing this author always does-constantly glosses over anything that would be immensely more interesting to read compared to what we get in the books

i dont think that scene lived up to the hype i mustve felt in the book with that market

im on day two of bleeding and the second half of the relaxing day i thought id have so far has gotten more stressful

im back into this series after whichever books i already read before

ive forgotten the title and plot
but its the one where i only recall the fmc having something to do with farming, on a world where its ppl hate farming bc they used to be slaves to do it

and the one market scene i apparently enjoyed

this one was similar in that i only enjoyed one scene
here it was the second ritual where she danced

Él me da pena en verdad porque él, a pesar de que no está enamorado de Serena, quiere pasar su vida con ella. Un hombre que cumpleee peroooo Serena no ta en eso no 😭

El tipo en verdad es un amor, creo que hasta me gusta más que el del otro libro (aunque de ese no me acuerdo muy bien 😞)

Overall, the book is okay.

Things that are not okay: referring to her genitalia as private parts and naughty bits is troubling, as is referring to a uterus as anything beyond a uterus. The words we use hold meaning and referring to female anatomy as geared towards growing children or something to be ashamed about (naughty?!?!) is wholly problematic.
