I saw a post about things to do to be intentional this February, and one idea was about reading books written by black authors because it is black history month which is such a good idea and will help motivate me to read this month so amazing.
I’m really excited for that and am starting by going back to a classic: (thank you Mr Ivett!!)

"Jumping Monkey Hill"
This story is full of the angst of a woman and author who has to push back against those who doubt the authenticity of her story and that of others, saying they are 'not real stories about real people' or 'don't represent the real Africa,' even though each tells a different story of a person in Africa, written by a true African, based on that writer's experiences and observations.

Incrível como a Chimamanda também é uma ótima contista. A escrita dela é ágil, afiadíssima e envolvente. Ela provoca, gera desconforto e nos coloca para pensar sobre o que está transmitindo por meio de seus personagens super realistas.
