The last 30-20-% of these books are way too sappy for my tastes. It’s just so overkill that it feels forced and repetitive. But it doesn’t help the story. You can still have the HEA without going on for chapters about how in love they are. It’s like the author is trying to convince herself and it’s not as interesting as the magic

Idk if this is a romance author thing but saying MC instead of writing out motorcycle club is driving me crazy. It feels almost lazy that she didn’t control f and replace it every time. Not everyone reads all these different sub genres

And this book is not enemies to lovers. I’m tired of these marketing shenanigans from these authors and publishers who force them to pitch this way. This is *maybe?* workplace rivals to lovers but I would even argue that the tension period is so short lived that maybe it shouldn’t even a selling point of the book at all — but that’s too much to ask from the publishing industry lol

So on one hand I can see the heart warming nature of seeing the family together and growing, and she definitely tried to have some kind of emotional relationship grow parallel to the physical one in order to add depth, but like all these books it reads like a switch flipped on all the tension at a certain point and everything is resolved. So why am I reading 150 pages of them being annoying
