JULIETTE is a multi-published author of paranormal and fantasy romance. She is represented by Rachel Brooks at BookEnds Literary Agency. She calls lush, moss-laden Louisiana home where she lives with her husband, four kids, and black lab named Kona. From the moment she read JANE EYRE as a teenager, she fell in love with the Gothic romance--alluring settings, persevering heroines, and dark, sexy heroes. Even then, she not only longed to read more books set in Gothic worlds, she wanted to create her own.

First, I'm very excited that you've joined the journey of Gen and Jude. And to answer your question, I didn't want Jude mentioned in the blurb of BiB to avoid spoilers. Any mention of him would tell the reader a huge plotline and the ending of SiS.

But please, do NOT worry. I'm an HEA girl ALL THE WAY. There will be a bit more heartbreak before we get there, but I promise, all will be well.

Thank you for reading. :) Can't wait to read your review of FiF.(less)

But if I had to choose, I'd definitely say Jane Eyre and Edward Rochester. I adore the stories of love crossing all boundaries where class and society mean nothing when our hero and heroine fall for each other. Jane is the overlooked governess who has an inner strength and beauty that outclasses every privileged lady of the gentry in the story. And Edward dismisses all of society's rules (and laws, for that matter) to take Jane for his own.

Also, I am maddeningly obsessive over the dark, brooding, and temperamental hero, especially those who can be witty, charming and a bit sarcastic as well. This is the exact definition of Edward Rochester. He's the perfect imperfect hero, in my opinion. ;)(less)

FORGED IN FIRE (Science Fiction & Fantasy)
1 chapters — updated May 13, 2015 06:38PM
Description: She never knew this demon world existed. Now she just wants to survive it. Genevieve Drake never needed a man to come to her rescue. Not until the night of her twentieth birthday, when some dude nearly chokes her to death in an alley behind a New Orleans Goth club. And a hot stranger splits the guy in half, rips a monster from inside, and incinerates it into ash. The hunky rescuer? Jude Delacroix—Dominus Daemonum, Master of Demons, now her guardian, whether she likes it or not. But she’s seriously beginning to like it. Her would-be murderer turns out to be only the first of many minions of the demon prince, Danté, who has all kinds of lascivious and sadistic plans. Which means when the formidably beautiful Jude offers his protection, Genevieve has no problem accepting it. For Jude and his fellow demon hunters tell her she is a Vessel, one who is born to serve the Light, but can be corrupted into a weapon of darkness. And to survive, she must trust a man whose unearthly eyes promise heaven…but whose powers unleash hell. Warning: Contains a dark and brooding demon hunter who harbors even darker secrets, a snarky heroine who’s being hunted by every demon in the underworld, and a sadistic demon prince with a fancy for violent sexual encounters.

Description: In a world divided by prejudice and hatred, only love can bridge the chasm. Tensions are rising in the Gladium Province. The boundary between humans and Morgons has begun to blur. While the human aristocracy strives to maintain distance between their daughters and the dragon-hybrid race, fate has other plans. As the daughter of the corporate king, Jessen Cade is duty-bound to honor her arranged marriage to a man she detests. Feeling trapped by family duty and a loveless future, she longs for more, straying to the Morgon side of the city. Lucius Nightwing is the eldest son of the powerful Morgon clan, and the greatest enemy of Jessen’s father. When a bar-room brawl thrusts Jessen into his arms, his dragon roars to the surface, craving to sate his carnal hunger in the brown-eyed beauty. The beast in Lucius recognizes her as his own, even if the man refuses to admit the truth.

“Funny thing about fear. When you cling to it, the fear grows exponentially, a monster morphing into a suffocating mass. But when you face it head-on, conquering the beast before it swallows you whole, you find there was nothing there to fear at all. The chains break, and the whole world feels lighter than ever before.”
Juliette Cross, Waking the Dragon

“You want to be possessed, but not controlled. You want to be protected, but not smothered. You want to be dominated, but only in one way.”
Juliette Cross, Waking the Dragon

“I want you in my arms. I want you in my bed. I want to bury myself deep inside you and feel you shatter beneath me, again and again. I want you daily, nightly, repeatedly, constantly, forever. And when I know it’s safe to take you, you’d best be ready. If you’re not, you’d better run and hide, because it will take a legion of angels and demons to keep me off of you.”

“All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.

From the ashes a fire shall be woken,
A light from the shadows shall spring;
Renewed shall be blade that was broken,
The crownless again shall be king.”
J.R.R. Tolkien, The Fellowship of the Ring

“Faithless is he that says farewell when the road darkens.”
J.R.R. Tolkien, The Fellowship of the Ring

“Jane Eyre
"I desired more...than was within my reach. Who blames me? Many call me discontented. I couldn't help it: the restlessness is in my nature; it agitated me to pain sometimes.”
Charlotte Brontë, Jane Eyre

“Jane: Mr. Rochester, if ever I did a good deed in my life-if ever I thought a good thought-if ever I prayed a sincere and blameless prayer-if ever I wished a righteous wish-I am rewarded now. To be your wife is, for me, to be as happy as I can be on earth.
Mr. Rochester: Because you delight in sacrifice.
Jane: Sacrifice! What do I sacrifice? Famine for food, expectation for content. To be privileged to put my arms round what I value-to press my lips to what I love-to repose on what I trust: is that to make a sacrifice? If so, then certainly I delight in sacrifice.”
Charlotte Brontë, Jane Eyre

“You, Jane, I must have you for my own--entirely my own.”

Haha! Thanks for accepting. :) I seriously almost spit out my coffee when I read your profile name. Hubs and I are currently on our semi-annual rewatch of GOT. ;)

So, I love Bec McMasters London Steampunk series, so damn cool and original. I also am a huge Nalini Singh fan of both the Guildhunter and the Psy-Changeling series. Oh! And Amanda Bouchet! Wow. Her FR, the Kingmaker series, was so cool--snarky and sexy--my favorite type of romance. How about you?
