There’s a gazillion new characters in this. And I’m not sure why we’re to care about them. There’s literally no continuity beyond Aurora is asleep and Alyce is annoying. Alyce’s name is even different here. Could be a whole new book. And it’s not yet as compelling as the former.

Finally got my hand on this book! Although I need to recall the first one.

Lol I hate an insufferable villain. I feel like I enjoyed Alyce when she was selfish and naive like the other members of court. 100 years as the Dark Lord (?) fancying herself the eternal victim of others’ machinations has made her ANNOYING. I don’t know how we endure 350 pages of this tripe.

Nothing has happened yet. Need more action. Alyce/ Nimara still insufferable.

this might be the most boring book i’ve ever read i’m desperately waiting for it to be over
