Bit of a slog in the middle. The past few chapters are about experiments with very predictable outcomes (lol, that's the point of the book I guess) but the author doesn't really discuss what specific knowledge gap gets filled besides "natural selection is real and leads to populations/species evolving based on their environment!". It's obviously cool but repetitive, and the chapters don't really build on each other

Rereading this book because it gives a pretty good overview of some of topics I'm interested in for my PhD.

Losos does a great job of crafting a narrative about researchers, their contributions to the field, and how their findings shape our current thinking. His overview of convergent evolution takes you through time stopping to visit some classic works in EEB while giving some personal anecdotes along the way.
