yo, the sexual tension between kora and acheron is ridiculous now. am I the weird one here??? There was 0 build up. like this is maybe the 2nd! time they've been able to sit down and have a forreal conversation and be comfortable with one another, it ends because acheron gets hard. I feel like we've maybe missed some steps along the way. It would be different if this was like lust at first sight but it wasn't...

this book is a MESS. maybe it's me, and it could very well be, but god am i having trouble getting through it. There's *no* chemistry so far besides that board game scene for them to be *this* close to fucking literally two pages later. Sexual tension out of thin fucking air. I wanna like this book so bad because the idea and synopsis is so good. imma keep reading though

Almost done with the book and it's still relying on the miscommunication trope *sigh*.
It had everything to be perfect and yet the execution is poorly done.

I have mixed emotions about Kora and Acheron, tbh. On one I want them to be together -they could be a wonderful couple but... I HOPE the author takes the time for Acheron to understand and overcome his trauma.

Finally I'm invested in the story. The writing is not really my favorite but Acheron is a character I found extremely interesting. Oz makes me laugh a lot and he's the bff everybody needs. Kora is more than just a fragile young woman.

Medieval, gladiator personas, and magic! Cannot wait to see how this wraps up!

So far, this book is actually pretty good.
