Why did I think a short stories collection would make for a lighter reconnection with Cixin Liu before I tackled "Death's End"? It's Cixin Liu. There's nothing light about it. And the titular story "The Wandering Earth" just reminded me of that by punching me in the guts. Repeatedly.
