this isn’t my first book by haskell, but it is my first book by him in the original language. wow. his writing is so ! good !
it is definitely harder to read than the translation. it takes a lot of patience, it can feel quite convoluted & obscure at times esp when he describes nature, but it also makes for an equally rewarding reading experience

Have decided to call it quits due to the switch in focus. Overall it's unique and the author, knowledgeable.. A short 3.5 star review tomorrow.

I find it curious how the author segues from tree stories to geographical and cultural in the second part, and mentions of trees or their songs have been left out for the most part. It's interesting nonetheless
