i picked this book up at a used book store about three years ago now and i’m only just starting it. i am intrigued. i read the first sixteen pages very quickly (only stopped to go to sleep). i have had to look up a word definition and a historic era summary - but overall a good level of a challenge.

Still plugging away. I like this book of Teilhard's the least in that it seems to make too many assumptions and leaps to conclusions that current society has proven wrong. So I find his overly optimistic views a bit depressing. It all comes down to free will in each human heart. And no one can accurately predict the future...

Wonderful enthusiasm mixed with a lack of insight into the inherent evil possible in humanity. Surprising from someone who saw WWI and WWII first hand.

I am fascinated by Theilhard's hopes and dreams for the human race, even as I realize that he seems to have left out the whole problem of sin, spiritual death, and the possibility of hell.

Teilhard continues to see the upward spiral of humanity in an ever brighter light. Amazingly, he reflected an optimism of his age that looked beyond world wars and devastation to a whole, happier human future.
