this book is killing me (at chapter 10)

As the stories from 1957 and the present day start to converge, I found I had to turn back to the fantastical stories Tori’s father shared with her in the early chapters of the book. Then, they made little sense and were not especially memorable. Now their significance becomes clearer and they need revisiting.

while i can tell a lot of rsearch went into this, the contrast between white vs japanese authors when writing japense people is rather painful... then again, i'm listening to the book and the narrator is really pushing the anime school girl™️ voice on the protagonist :')

Audible: I loved the telling of their wedding night, so gentle, so loving

I’m listening with Audible. Bonus: The narrator can really pronounce names very well
