I have this recurring feeling with these stories that I really enjoy them but then I hate or dont understand the ending. Sometimes they feel unfinished, sometimes I feel I'm completely missing the meaning like with the fifty ninth bear.

when i first read “the fifty-ninth bear” i almost pooped my pants because i thought it was actually misogynistic. after the ending, i feel i’ve been saved by mother sylvia oncemore

fifteen-dollar eagle:
i don’t really get this one. it felt very misogynistic, and i’m struggling to tell if this was intentional or more of plath’s ignorance. i do see quite a bit of potential in this story though. i’m also exhausted and can’t analyze properly atm so i will examine more soon

So far, my favorite stories are Johnny Panic and the Bible of dreams (I wished she had turned it into a long novel, I was fascinated by it) and The Wishing Box. After reading these I somewhat regained my long missed capacity to remember my dreams. The concept of envying someone's imagination resonated deep within me. Some stories feel unifinished (according to the introduction I think they are)

remember when i said i'd read a story a day? yeah i lied. anyways,
im still struggling to find a common theme among these stories. what was the method of selection, or is it simply that?
the inclusion of notebook entries baffles me, since they don't appear to relate to any stories (though i need to do more reflection)
i will say, above all i adore sylvia's essays. 10/10 writing i hope to one day achieve right here
