Status Updates From Dolores Claiborne

Dolores’ voice is doing all the work here. King has created a persona who is funny, sharp, fed up, and carrying this swollen anger inside of her. She’s technically at a police station confessing, but it feels more like she’s finally had the floor and isn’t giving it back. Sometimes, King does female rage exceptionally well.

Our narrator is Dolores Claiborne. So far, she's funny, furious, done with life and everyone else.
