Status Updates From The OP MC 6 (The OP MC, #6)

There wasn't even any nuance to the ending. No surprise twists at the trial or execution... they just happened, without a hitch. How boring.
Even the sex scene after the wedding was cut off - because he ended the book. How lazy. ALSO, Bash still hasn't gotten with Caelia - after an entire book of hearing how he wants to be with her, we just get it repeated at the end. Fucking hell.
This book was quite boring.

The big event happened in one go without any resets... I think that's a first for this series. It's funny how, even though the resets can get annoying, not having any seems lazy in comparison.

The whole 'give me plan ideas and then I'm going to reset and everyone will be wowed by my plan because they'll see it as being my plan only' shtick is getting super old. We get it, everyone is impressed, except for the readers because we know what bullshit is actually going on. Don't need to keep reading about it.

Basically yadda-yadda'd the bastard son being found because he's too lazy to write it out, lol.
Let me guess, this is going to be a 'bastard child claims his right' thing and Bash will support him, and then get another sycophantic 'friend' as a result.

Ako is turning out to be more than a forced male friendship. It's kind of weird. I honestly wonder if he's going to turn into a woman at some point, somehow, and then be added to the harem. Way too much time is being spent with him...
I find it hilarious how in these books, when a woman is not ever going to be a love interest, either A) has little to no description at all, or B) made deliberately ugly.

It's boring and rote at this point. I'm kind of just waiting for it to end. I like (some of) the characters, I think the general premise has potential and merit, but the author squanders all of it continually. Not saying I'm done with the series, but I am definitely looking forward to returning to 'normal' reading after I finish this, and giving this another break.

Bash is pondering how best to interrogate someone, wanting to avoid torture. It then 'dawns on him' (actual words used) that he is able to reset, meaning it doesn't actually matter what he does. Are you fucking kidding me? It's the sixth book, the time reset ability is the literal crux of the series, and you were using it mere pages beforehand. We're supposed to believe you forgot about it? Come the fuck on.

The general premise of Bash being able to rewind time could be cool, but this author uses it as an excuse to be lazy time and time again (heh). Like, sneaking through a hallway and accidentally triggering a trap, reset. Ok, makes sense. Then on his next attempt, at the very end, he accidentally triggers a trap, and resets again. That one adds nothing of value to the story; it's a waste of time. It's just padding.

I want Caelia to be added to the harem already, so it can be done with. This pattern of minor flirtation with her followed by Bash thinking 'I want to push it further, but I need to take it slow... But she will be mine!' has repeated like 10 times, and it's annoying.
I've been skim reading through the past few percent because the story is currently solidly in the boring repetition until plot moves forward section.

Alright, idiot or not, it's at least somewhat believable that the Bash wouldn't know everything about pregnancy, being a male. But all 3 of the women are also unaware of the signs of pregnancy, and taken by surprise at the news? You've got to be fucking kidding me. This is ridiculous.

Oh come on, this idiot doesn't know what morning sickness is? After how much they have repeated over and over they want to get pregnant, now we have to suffer through this moron not realizing what's happening in relation to a pregnancy... ugh.

We're still in the first half of the book, so you know what that means - have an entire chapter that is rendered pointless because the group returns to their belongings to find it ransacked, so Bash resets. Yay, more random thieves again! Definitely not a waste of time!
Almost this exact same shit happened in the previous novel. I like the harem characters, but damn, I fucking hate this guy's lazy-ass writing.

This Ako Gray guy seems like someone's incredibly lame OC donut steel fursona. What is the point of having a (seemingly) ridiculously powerful 'friend' in a harem novel? It serves no purpose. And he seems so intricate and not half-assed like most things are in these books, so I can't help but wonder if it really is someone's fursona.

Oh yeah sure let's force another male friendship with this cat wizard guy. Those are always so interesting and not terrible. I'm sure they will become best friends within 10 pages.
Maybe you should have someone say how Eva doesn't want to plan her own wedding a few more times. I missed it the first 13 times it was stated.

It is beyond bizarre that Sebastian killed a duke's son in the first book, but now he and that duke are friends and allies and he's about to marry the duke's daughter. It makes no sense. Should've made it be another duke. It smacks of how little this series is planned ahead of time.

Back on this shit. Why bother giving a recap when we're 6 books in? I don't think anyone is jumping into a harem series on the sixth book. And these come out so close to one another, I doubt you'd forget these most basic broad strokes of the story (which is what the recap is - the basic stuff). The real answer is because it takes up space, I know. Gotta reach that word count goal.
