Status Updates From Pearl (Dakotah Treasures, #2)

I finished the book and while reading the rating I do agree that this was less about Pearl and more about Ruby and Opal. I wish we had gotten more from her father as well. It was separated in the beginning but after Pearl made her way out to Little Missouri it turned more to Ruby. While I enjoy these characters I understand the slight unsatisfactory of it all. Still rating it a 4.

Rating this book a 4 star, I really enjoy the characters stories and I was not expecting the ending of the book. While I wouldn’t recommend these books they mean a lot to me due to my travels and because my grandma was the one to pass them to me.

Dove House has burnt to the ground completely. The money was loss, which I’m SO mad about, but it’s not like Belle won anything out of it either. Rand came racing into town, saw her and was overjoyed after thinking the worse. He kissed her and he told her he’d be coming back to the ranch with him. This Ruby & Rand as well as Pearl & Carl we’re on the train the evening to Dickinson and were married!

Ruby did it, she sold Dove House to Belle for $18,000 and negotiated 2 weeks grace period where Ruby and the rest of the group could proceed with the hotel as well as figure their nexts moves. Papers were signed and the transaction was complete. Ruby told her sister and the rest of the gang. However, not long after a storm blew in a lighting struck the building and started a fire!

Cimmarron and Jed announced that they were getting married and Ruby went off to find Opal. She found her with the marquees dealing/playing cards with a cigar. Opal cleaned house and Ruby was utterly distraught. (Of course to us reading this now, this is nothing.) Nevertheless, Ruby made Opal give away her winnings, who was Cimmarron, and Ruby wrote to Belle asking for $18,000 in order to sell Dove House.

Rand went to Dove House again, Beans sent a gift for Ruby which turned out to be a necklace he crafted. Rand finally told Ruby he loved her and she returned the sentiment. He then asked her to marry him again and with Dove House Ruby is unsure but Rand asked if she loved him like she said she did, then to trust him that things will work out.
