I love every character in this series. Terry Pratchett is wonderful and his books hold up so well. I think I’ll read the death series of discworld next

Oh wow I can just add notes like this can I? Blimey.
Most memorable line so far:
"On a clear day, from the right vantage point on the Ramtops, a watcher could see a very long way across the plains... There was usually a day’s traveling between each convoy. They turned the landscape into an unrolled time machine. On a clear day, you could see last Tuesday."

Re-reading this one. The last time I read it, bizarrely, I was doing jury service and waiting to be called up (or not). There's stuff I understand so far this time around that I wouldn't have last time (nothing huge, just Colon and Nobby being in charage of traffic, etc.). Good to get Vimes out of Ankh Morpork, at risk of rewriting Guards! Guards! again.

Started listening to this immediately after the first one. The heat wave here has made it hard for me to do almost anything, including using my eyes, so I read with my ears. 😛🙉

Im gonna need Angua to come back into the plot soon because I cannot deal with Colon torturing the watch for 15 chapters.

DNf. I have loved so many of Pratchett's books but I've reached the end of the line and will likely not be picking up anymore of his books, just in a different stage of life now I guess.

"Lady Margolotta sonrió a los vampiros reunidos. Le gustaban aquellas reuniones.
El resto del grupo era bastante abigarrado, y ella se preguntó cuáles serían sus motivos para estar allí. Pero tal vez todos compartían por lo menos una convicción: que lo que eras, como te habían hecho, no era lo que tenías que ser ni lo que podías acabar siendo..."

Another banger, this book
Daily Death AND Vimes!!!:
GOOD MORNING.
Vimes blinked. A tall dark robed figure was now sitting in the boat.
‘Are you Death?’
IT’S THE SCYTHE, ISN’T IT? PEOPLE ALWAYS NOTICE THE SCYTHE.
‘I’m going to die?’
POSSIBLY.
‘Possibly? You turn up when people are possibly going to die?’
OH, YES. IT’S QUITE THE NEW THING. IT’S BECAUSE OF THE UNCERTAINTY PRINCIPLE.
‘What’s that?’
I’M NOT SURE.

Daily Vimes:
Inigo looked down. He swallowed. Vimes had a knife, too. ‘You really are no gentleman, then,’ he said.
‘Make a sudden move and neither are you,’ said Vimes. ‘And now it appears that we have reached what Sergeant Colon persists in referring to as an imp arse.’
‘I assure you I will not kill you,’ said Inigo.
‘I know that,’ said Vimes. ‘But will you try?’

Daily Gaspode:
‘So? When she’s human-shaped she’s just like a human. And what’s that got to do with anything? Humans don’t like werewolves. Wolves don’t like werewolves. People don’t like wolves that can think like people, an’ people don’t like people who can act like wolves. Which just shows you that people are the same everywhere,’ said Gaspode. He assessed this sentence and added, ‘Even when they’re wolves.’
