5.14: sixteen tons (pt.2) - NUREYEV AND RITA WORKING TOGETHER!!!! i’m going to sob. they’re playing dodgeball. the happiness and banter is definitely a red herring and nureyev’s going to make him leave at the end of the episode but. i’m going to live in denial. they did this in what lies beyond part one too. i’m choosing to ignore that.

5.14: sixteen tons (pt.2) - i missed their bickering so much. “oh rita’s here? thank god someone on this operation has a brain.” “besides, you don’t want me dead, ‘reyev, i’d be a lot less pretty dead.” god i love them so much.

5.14: sixteen tons (pt.2) - like the immediate “no!” and then juno saying “…what?” WITH THE ELIPSES PAUSE and the solid ten seconds of nureyev stuttering and audibly thinking before he started to circle in on an excuse. where is noah simes’s tony i mean it. there should be a tony awards for audio drama podcasts and noah simes should win every category.

5.14: sixteen tons (pt.2) - also the way i could hear the fears in his brain turning after he said “no!” once juno tried to leave. like that was desperate and involuntary and vulnerable but then he took a second and was like “you’re going to get killed if you try to find the way out on your own”. noah simes you are an incredible actor i’m going to have my therapist bill you.

5.14: sixteen tons (pt.2) - nureyev said it. he said the thing. and juno went “okay. i understand. goodbye, nureyev.” and then nureyev immediately took it back and told juno not to leave. but then he framed it as “i’m showing you the door. if you left on your own you’d get in trouble” etc. my man is pulling out every excuse under the sun.
