Alright, let’s see how this one wraps up... def not as good overall as the southern reach trilogy I can say for sure after the first two.

I'm not in the mood for a murder mystery, and don't feel patient enough for such elaborate world building.

Reading this a second time because a) it's just that weird and good, and b) I had a dream the other night in which the flesh of my hand was being invaded by alien spores and when I woke up this book was the first thing I thought of. Vandermeer has a unique ability to write the creepy and unsettling in a way that that gets under your skin and stays with you. File under Mycelium Noir.
