Status Updates From Six Names of Beauty

This is definitely the definition of beauty I expected from a western man. The strict root of beauty as objects that arouse “longing” is just, weird? “Longing” can definitely be a feeling that can fall under the umbrella of beauty but to define it as that just highlights to me how beauty to someone like the author is something that is wanted and can be owned. “What men want and what women want to be” ???

So far, very rambley and unfocused, but with absolutely beautiful prose and really lovely reflections on what beauty possibly means! The Navajo word “Hozho,” meaning harmony or balance, is the one that’s resonated with me the most 😎

Also, tangentially? It's been a time since I've felt that sense of longing talked about in this book, where something is so moving in a nebulous, precognitive way that you're left kinda stunned and with a vague feeling of desire, and I miss that feeling :-/ Hoping this course gets me closer to having that again (analytical thinking might interfere with experiencing that, but hey!)!
