well… i’m so close to being done so i gots to see it through my boy, but this ending is already looking to be so fucking stupid. first of all, they decided to make Riley look like an idiot and a dick out of nowhere just to make the breakup make more sense so that Monica can go prancing over to Hazard. The characters drastically changed all of a sudden, and where are Baz Benji and Mrs Wu?? They literally vanished.

i really like how homey and cozy this book feels (for the most part). even though the conflict kind of sucks right now, i already know it’ll all come together and be solved in the end. a predictable read can be nice here and there

At this point, i’m too hooked on the progression of this book to worry about the cringy writing. it’s too hard to resist all the mini cliffhangers at the end of each chapter that makes you want to keep reading. i also like that the chapters are short and basically bite sized. all to say that i can officially say i’m enjoying reading this. it sucked me in too much not to say so

i’m having such a hard time pinpointing how i feel about this book. i love the idea, and i want to see how it ends (and i’m sort of enjoying??), but sometimes the characters can be absolutely insufferable and the writing - cringey as all hell. i guess the best way to put it is that i’m hooked, but it makes me cringe a lot. somehow i still can’t put it down though. whack

Feels like the author is trying to fit in every feel good movie message and trope and it is not really working imo

Cute premise, however I feel that a lot of the dialogue is similar to a mediocre wattpad fic and felt cheesy and overdone

The characters seem to make actions that are slightly out of character for their stock-like basis. Monica forgives Riley and Hazard easily despite being so hurt about beforehand and being initially frosty with them both, Hazard decides to come with Riley and Monica despite being drunk and high and saying he enjoys it. But I guess these aren’t stock characters.

Characters are a bit one-dimensional, and earnest to the point of unrealistic, but I like them anyways for some reason. Julian, despite starting the authenticity project, has multiple moments of falling into the fronts put up by others, such as outing Baz to Betty and thinking Alice has it sorted as a mother based on her Insta. I thought that was an ironic and intelligent choice.

slow progress because the plot still isn’t picking up…

okay… hm. i had really high hopes for this book from the get go, but it’s in a way more modern setting than i thought it would be. i’m still interested and still want to keep reading, but i’m noticing it’s becoming sort of cringy and also predictable. i’ll see how it goes, but so far it’s already looking to be a mediocre read

This book is doing an interesting thing where, despite being about authenticity and secrets and things, the characters themselves seem a bit stock-ish. Hazard, Julian, and Alice especially. I’m not sure I like that much, although the interactions and multiple perspectives is still really awesome.

i already really love where this is going. i can see that every new person that picks up the authenticity project notebook will be able to help the last person. i’m already hooked. my only complaint so far is sometimes i have trouble figuring out the settings of where each person is at a given time. they don’t always specify when they relocate so i’m left trying to put the pieces together on my own

this is so??? adorably nice wtf!! I'm a pessimist so I'm READY for things to go bad... I'm kinda... in love with hazard when I probably shouldn't be 🤭

this is so random but I'm kinda loving it?? I love the fact the MCs have icons relating to their POVs. Art for Julian, Coffee for Monica & Wine for Hazard! adorable

Quite earnest, but some of it feels a bit too convenient and constructed to feel comfortable to read and believe that sort of fantasy, in a sense. It’s kinda cute though.
