“ The difference in conclusions between the apostle Paul and the feminist movement of today is rooted in a fundamental difference in their points of view relative to the constitution of the human race. This book is astounding. Not only does Pastor Garris argue for Biblical patriarchy, he does this while explaining complementarian and egalitarian fews and how they fall short and can't stand up to scrutiny. You are left with a robust understanding of many different arguments and why a masculine patriarchal Christianity is all we are left with.

Ch 3 is an excellent treatment of complementarianism as a new thing created in response to egalitarianism’s encroachment into the church. The criticism focuses especially on narrow complementarianism, but ultimately rejects most all of what complementarian thought purports. It serves as a solid framing for the book’s broader goal of retrieving a biblical (and historical) hierarchical patriarchalism.
