Status Updates From Companion Required

This had its ups, but mostly downs if I'm being honest. I didn't care much for the main characters - nor the side characters - and there were times where I was kinda bored. The narrator did fine most of the times, but there were also moments where his way of narrating threw me off. I guess this book just wasn't for me *shrug*. The ending was sweet though.

Wow, they really went from not talking for 2 months, to Kieran moving in, them getting a dog and talking about having kids in just one day. These two aren't messing around.

Pat needs to realize that it's over between him and Kennedy. I mean, he can't be mad that Kennedy has moved on after having been broken up for 5 years. And did all Kennedy's friends know he paid for his companions all this time? That doesn't fit with Kennedy's image in my head; if he knew they knew, I'd think he'd stop cuz it would be embarrassing that he couldn't find someone to join him unless he paid for them??

I don't get why Kennedy keeps Sloane around, when he knows Sloane is out to get his position. While I get that Kennedy needs Sloane's charm to close deals, it seems to me that Sloane is a bit too aggressively trying to underhand Kennedy for him to have actual value for Kennedy's company..

So you're telling me Jeff, Kennedy's dad, never looked up Kennedy? Never thought to actually look into what he does or how successful his son is, now that said son doesn't share himself? I'm sorry, but while I get wanting to hear it from Kennedy himself, Jeff really has no excuse for being this surprised or taken aback by Kennedy's success, when it has been one Google search away this whole time.

Yes! That's it! Kennedy DOES seem like a man looking for a "gay for pay" even if he's gay himself. I know he doesn't want his companion for a month to be taken by surprise that he said yes to a gay cruise, I get that, but the way he's gone about finding said companion? Something about it just irks me I guess..

So Jules, Kieran's sister, uses his thankfulness for taking him in when he was thrown out by making him her house elf? Making him clean up for them? He even makes her and her boyfriend's bed?! That's... weird. And as if she's exploiting her own brother a bit..

I agree with Kieran - 41yo Kennedy is acting as if he's browsing a meat market of young gay men, swiping left and right over minor things. It's weird.

Kennedy seems a bit... off to me. The whole emphasis on it being a GAY cruise and hid GAY friends as if he needs to emphasize he's GAY seems a bit much. Also how has this been his way to find a companion for years? How has no one (aka his family and friends) figured him out yet? I mean, isn't it a bit risky to put a flipping add in the newspaper once a year? -.-
