I was really enjoying this book until it suddenly became like dark violent mafioso.

I didn't read the first book because it wasn't available so maybe they went there. I wouldn't have chosen it otherwise. Anyhow I'll see how far I can get. The narrator is pretty good and the story is cheese ball but if they lay off the violence because there's nothing else to write about then maybe it'll be good
