Lovely. This book so far cements Henry James as one of the greatest writers I’ve ever had the pleasure of reading.

Don't think I've ever read anything quite like James. It's almost as if you're hearing the story second hand, from a slightly vague narrator who likes to add endless digressions and little details, almost as if they're half-remembering the story themselves. It's narrated like the characters are moving in sepia tones.
