Status Updates From I and Thou

Getting more nuanced as I keep reading. The I, without the It, is incomplete. The Thou, without the It, is incomplete. Buber is not just advocating for an I-Thou relationship 100% of the time

Heard a lot about this, and grateful to finally get into it. Buber’s I-Thou and I-It dialectic captures what it means to live in both a sacred and secular world, which necessitates the use of both Thou and It. In the inward life, stories necessitates both primary forms of language.
