I thought something exciting that wasn’t just the plot of The Great Gatsby was about to happen but alas. I may have thought wrong.

Here's the thing: I will never be one to disparage someone from picking up a pen when they have a story they want to tell. That said... I sure am struggling to see the point in this book. 28% in and I don't know why there needs to be vague references to magic or why this is a Gatsby retelling at all. Maybe it would be more interesting if it was an original work. Idk!
