Abortion discourse in the 1700s is not the same as abortion discourse in the present day!

Mrs Stuart, ma’am, the 1700s were one of the sluttiest periods in English history. Bryony wouldn’t be anywhere near as ignorant as you’re portraying her.

Unless this is supposed to be victorian? I’m not sure if the references to anarchists and split crotch drawers are anachronisms or intended to signpost a period post French Revolution.

Despite having written however many books set in the Georgian period, I don’t think Anne Stuart understands 18th century clothing at all.

32 pages in and…I’m not feeling it. Bryony seems interesting, and I want to see her hand these two their asses but not enough to push through. This book is rapidly turning me off. As I usually do when I have concerns, I took a peek at the back and did not see any of the actions or words that would reassure me. Nope, not excited about this one and not going to try and push through

Absolutely a fun read. Would anyone stay as cool and collected as Byrony, I doubt it.

I don’t give a flying fuck about Cecilia and her petty little thoughts; get back to Kit & Byrony.

“Once more, she could thank the gods of sleep, Tutu in ancient Egypt, Somnus for the Romans, Hypnos for the Greeks. She had a particular fondness for the old civilizations, and she wondered if the Vikings had a god of sleep as well. Probably not—they were too busy fighting to take a nap.”

“She would have to bide her time.
But she was going to kill the Earl of Adderley, she promised herself, and she was going to dance in his blood.”
With content like this, it’s not doing my insomnia any favours!
