Though some went over my head, I really enjoyed getting leftist media commentary for once. I liked the different angles it took in talking about prominent leftist campaigns (Bernie, Corbyn, & historical ones too). This has left me energized and wanting to read more political stuff. I also liked section about defending socialism (and/or soc-dem-ism) from both liberals & communists as both viable & common sense.

2 very big articles analyzing Bernie's campaigns--one a straightford blow-by-blow of the gains, strengths & weaknesses, plus the groundwork his campaigns laid. Other was examination of how leftist politics should interact with mainstream politics: coalition, or confrontation? Thankfully the article was nuanced enough to show it's not just one or the other. Interesting, but some was over my head. I have a lot to learn

Interesting article commenting on leaked texts from UK's Labour Party about James Corbyn, who was too progressive & was smeared and sabotaged by his own party because of challenge it posed to status quo. Obviously meant to also speak on Bernie's treatment by establishment Democrats/media in US. Quite scary to see the reality that parties will sabotage their own rather than push a platform that tries to help people.

Interesting so far--a 4-way interview with people on Bernie's 2016 & 2020 campaigns with insights on Bernie's appeal, why he lost, which strategies might've helped him, etc. Also interesting graphs showing Bernie's success in 2016 with rural rust belt areas that're normally written off as 'too backwards/conservative' to be worth it. Bernie won there because he played so strongly to their material interests.
